Nola wants to add a sub-category for YA or Children’s resources under General. Saleena and Nola will suggest some resource links by the end of February. Everyone is encouraged to submit ideas of resources for the wiki. Please email Christine Matteo (cmatteo@theoceancountylibrary.org) with your suggestions. The deadline for turning in submissions to Christine is March 20, 2009 so please take a few minutes to look at your bookmarks and send in some suggestions. Thanks!
Infolink Diversity Committee would love for the round table to co-sponsor the program with them. It will be a full day program the week of June 8th (exact date isn’t finalized yet). The keynote will be Jack Martin and James Murdock; Co-writers of the book “Serving Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning Teens” Other presenters are still not finalized, so keep an eye out for details!
Good of the Order: The 2010 National Diversity in Libraries Conference (NDLC) “NDLC2010: From Groundwork to Action” will take place from July 12-14 in Princeton, NJ. It is a biennial event that serves as a regional meeting for library staff members to discuss diversity issues, especially issues common to the host region’s culture. Additional details will be forthcoming.
Our next meeting is March 12 at the South Brunswick Public Library from 10-12. If you can’t join us in person feel free to join us using meebo from the comfort of your own computer. The meebo component of the meeting starts about 15 minutes later than the in person meeting, as Nola has to get her laptop up and running.
Respectfully submitted,
Saleena Davidson, Secretary
