New Jersey Summer Reading Committee
The New Jersey Summer Reading Committee provides libraries throughout the state with manuals, banners, posters and bookmarks based on the current theme of summer reading. The committee is also responsible for conducting information workshops to assist librarians and library staff with implementation of their summer programs.
The committee is comprised of librarians who areas of expertise represent the four levels of summer reading reading; early literacy, children, teens and adults.Workshops are typically held in the month of March.
The summer reading also hosts a literature based program at the NJLA conference each Spring. The committee makes every effort to bring talented authors and illustrators to NJ to speak about topics relevant to the current theme.
New Jersey is a member of the national organization Collaborative Summer Library Program which is a grassroots consortium of 49 states in the USA and American Territories.
Please be advised that all current year's artwork needs to be removed from library websites, social networking sites and library blogs by October 1 of each calendar year.
