One Book New Jersey

Visit the official One Book New Jersey website for lots of information about the past winners of the award, including book discussion questions, activities, crafts, speakers, and more!  On the OBNJ website, you will find a multitude of resources to help you to plan and advertise YOUR One Book Programs, to create displays and readers advisory materials with various booklists, and to accumulate prizes and give-aways for your library.

The One Book New Jersey program lost funding in 2010 and is currently on hiatus.  One Book New Jersey was created as an exciting program that libraries and their partners will promote across the state.  The goal was to bring people together through literature by encouraging them to read the same book and participate in discussions and other events centered on that book.  One Book New Jersey celebrates reading, literacy, and all that New Jersey's libraries do.

One Book New Jersey was an effort put forth by the New Jersey Library Association in collaboration with and funded by the New Jersey State Library, which is responsible for the coordination, promotion, and funding of the New Jersey Library Network.  One Book New Jersey received notable support and participation from the Public Relations Committee, the Readers Advisory Roundtable, the Children's Services Section, and the Young Adult Section.
